The lights blaze in the silent sky, moving in great swaying bands of colour like a living organism. On some nights they resemble the swirl of a nascent rose that has begun to open, sometimes a great river, and sometimes great lines descending to earth like the landing lights of a UFO. Few places showcase the magnitude of Mother Nature's forces at work quite like Iceland. Earth, fire, wind and water clash and vie for supremacy before your eyes. The result is a raw and untamed landscape of otherworldly beauty.
A dramatic fissure in the Earth's surface runs through Thingvellir National Park. Spouting geysers, waterfalls and rift valleys are a visual reminder of the tectonic plates slowing drifting apart beneath your feet. Why not embark on a caving adventure through a vast lava tube? The vivid colours and unexplainable formations of this subterranean cave are striking. Race ATVs along the black-sand beaches of the southern shores. As you gather speed the salty sea-spray and Atlantic winds will blast renewed vitality into your soul. Or feel an icy rush as you snowmobile across glaciers and pristine snow. Vantage points along the way afford jaw-dropping views – from the mighty volcanic ash mountain of Ingólfsfjall, to the coastal archipelago of the Westman Islands.
It's not just the under-road heating system that gives Reykjavik a warm glow. Icelanders are peaceful and hospitable with an endearing love of myths, magic and elves. Colourful rooftops and character-filled streets contain an edgy array of off-the-wall architecture, innovative art, lively music and a vibrant nightlife. Capitalise on the healing powers of the mineral-rich geothermal waters of the Blue lagoon or the lesser-known Fontana Geothermal Baths. Soaking in the hot springs under the starry sky, you can't help but succumb to unadulterated relaxation.
One of the best Iceland vacations: Your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby around noon and take you to explore the city. Enjoy an evening in Reykjavik – there are endless good restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel. Tonight you will have the option to have a luxury aurora safari tour if the visibility is good. Iceland is one of the world’s most accessible spots for viewing the Northern lights, the best season to see them in Iceland is from mid-September to mid-April. The Northern lights are a result of electrically charged particles from the sun colliding with gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere, causing displays of bright, colourful dancing lights. They are visible in the magnetic polar regions of the northern and southern hemispheres.
The next day meet your guide for a day exploring the Lava Falls - ‘Hraunfossar’ (Lava Falls) are a beautiful and unusual natural phenomena. Clear, cold springs of subterranean water seep through the lava and run as tiny waterfalls and rapids into the Hvita River and have the opportunity to walk into the glacier 'Langjökull’ with a guide and discover the glacier from the inside. The Long Glacier (1355m) is the second largest in Iceland. It has an area of about 950 km2 and most of it rises between 1200 and 1300 m above sea level. It rests on a hyaloclastite mountain.
Visit the incredible lava tunnel where you explore the unique world underneath the ground and take a trip through Raufarhólshellir a unique opportunity to get a close look of the impressive forces of nature that emerge from the centre of the earth. A footbridge has been built and impressive lighting in this part of the tunnel highlights the changing colours and the powerful seismic activity that formed the tunnel.
The Golden Circle is the name given to a 190 mile (300 kilometre) circular route which encompasses many of Iceland’s most famous landmarks. Stop to see the Geysir, a geothermal area where Strokkur “the butter churn” erupts about every 4-8 minutes and visit Gullfoss waterfall, an iconic waterfall in Iceland offering a spectacular view of the forces and beauty of untouched nature. Located in South Iceland on the Hvítá river which is fed by Iceland's second biggest glacier, Langjökull. The water plummets down 32 metres in two stages into a rugged canyon which walls reach up to 70 meters in height. On a sunny day a shimmering rainbow can be seen over the falls.
Throughout your trip we will be monitoring the aurora activity. With the ability to forecast the behaviour of the Northern Lights up to an hour in advance, we can make sure that you don’t miss an opportunity to see this magical phenomena. If you wish, an astronomer can join you for some added insights. Enjoy one of the best trips to Iceland!

Life here is lived in the open air and whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, history or culture, every Hawaiian experience comes with a dose of aloha ‘āina – love of the land. We suggest beginning your trip in the “heart of Hawaii”, Oahu. Spend a few days here before heading to Big Island. End with a final few days on the beautiful island of Kauai.
An adventurous spirit pulses through the “heart of Hawaii”, Oahu. Earth and water meet in dramatic fashion as the legendary North Shore tides pound against knife-edge cliffs. If you’re looking for the perfect wave, then this is the place to find it. Surf the mighty swell with a seasoned professional to show you the best spots to match your ability. If you prefer calmer waters, stand-up paddleboard along one of the island’s small tributaries or snorkel Hanauma Bay. Swimming in this sheltered embayment is like being inside a giant, tropical fishbowl full of a kaleidoscope of colourful marine life.
If you want to keep your feet dry, hike wind-whipped coastlines, volcanic craters or the imposing mountain ridge that forms the backbone of the island. The salty air, wondrous views and dazzling sunsets come with a dose of wanderlust. For a slice of history, learn about Pearl Harbor and see the poignant Arizona Memorial accompanied by a historian. For the foodies among you, take a taste bud tour of Oahu’s food truck culture with a local foodie expert.
After dark, the music of the ukulele and the aromas of plumeria are wafted through Waikiki, the “gathering place”, by the ocean breeze. Soak up the hospitality and festival spirit of Hawaii with a mai tai in-hand, fresh flower lei around your neck and the feel of floury sand between your toes. We can arrange a feast where each course gives a modern twist on the classic cuisine of a different island. One of the many highlights of a beach luau is the Samoan fire knife dance, where brave performers treat you to death-defying feats of astonishing dexterity. As the epicentre of Oahu, where royalty once came to play, this is the livelier side of island life.
On the Big Island of Hawaii you can witness the raw power of nature’s primal processes and explore four of the world’s different climate zones all in one place. Get unimpeded views of scalded desert, rainforest and volcanoes as you take a doors-off helicopter flight over Volcanoes National Park. Feel the heat of Mauna Loa and Kilauea (the latter being one of the most active volcanoes on Earth) as you pass over their craters. Journey through the remote and rugged landscape of Kaʻū, where historic farming plantations have produced coffee, macadamia nuts and oranges for centuries. Head past lava fields and grasslands to the shimmering black sand beach of Punaluʻu. You may find Hawksbill and green turtles have beaten you to it, already basking in the Hawaiian sun.
As night falls, set sail towards the horizon to view the Kona sunset from a private catamaran. Snorkel under the light of the moon to witness manta rays feeding off the plankton. Spotlights will help to attract these otherworldly creatures to their passive prey. With some having a wingspan of over 20 feet, these amazing creatures may look intimidating but they glide gracefully past with no malicious intent.
While on Big Island rappel and climb across 100ft drops, under roaring waterfalls and through verdant rainforest. As the sun begins to set, gallop on horseback along the beach. By night, experience a private Mauna Kea night hike and stargazing expedition. Climb to the Mauna Kea summit with your expert guide and witness breath-taking views and magical starry skies from the best vantage point on the whole island.
Lava has not only left its signature on the land; submarine volcanoes have created a network of unique formations underwater as well. Head out on a kayak from Turtle Town to see where the protected green turtles find shelter in volcanic reef structures and underwater caves. The views from above and below the water are worth capturing on camera.
Your final stop is the beautiful island of Kauai, also known as the "Garden Isle." Board a helicopter in Lihue and fly over some of the most gorgeous natural landmarks that Kauai has to offer, including Mana Waiapuna, commonly known as "Jurassic Park Falls," and Waimea Canyon, considered the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific." Explore the Canyon with an overnight adventure, where you will enjoy two days of swimming, relaxing, and exploring petroglyphs and unique flora and fauna. After a couple of days here, board a sailing charter and head northwest towards the “Forbidden Island” of Niihau, taking in the stunning waterfalls and sea caves that define the Napali Coast along the way.
It’s rare to be able to watch the sunrise and sunset from the same place but floating in the middle of the Pacific, this is a little drop of heaven on Earth where you can do just that.

Costa Rica's richness lies in its verdant and biodiverse lands. Between two oceans and two continents, the array of landscapes you'll encounter provides a bounteous haven for adventure, nature, culture and serenity in equal measure.
Adventure-seekers can ascend mountain trails and cross hanging bridges on the path to thundering waterfalls. Or ride horseback through dense forests and across hilltop pastures. Follow the continental divide on an ATV, passing across lakes and through the looming mists of the cloud forest. Rope-climb your way up a volcano and ride along the rim. Then take the aerial tramway to the highest point of the reserve, before you zip-line your way back down from one mountain to the next.
From summit to sea, the possibilities don't end. Snorkel in Pacific or Caribbean waters – two very different ecosystems. See turtles, whales and dolphins as they feed along the coastline. Catch green waves under the instruction of a professional surfer or explore offshore by stand-up paddleboard or waterskis. Perhaps deep-sea fish for mahi-mahi, black tuna, mackerel and marlin, or catch and release in the extensive wetlands or multiple rivers.
Nature creates an enchanting and stirring soundtrack to Costa Rica's jungle wilderness. The country's microclimates create diverse habitats bursting with exotic life. From the scream of the smoky jungle frog to the delightful tropical song of the Gray-necked Wood-Rail, each rhythm tells a story. The local rangers can translate the sights, sounds and smells of this magical place.
Ticos live by the mantra of pura vida. Its meaning is hard to define but there must be something in the jungle air because by the time you leave, your soul will be automatically initiated into the “pure life”.
